Coronavirus Response

March 13, 2020 by Terry Foley 1 Comment

5/23/21 Update

On Pentecost Sunday, May 23rd, we will be adding the option of in-person worship on Sunday mornings. We will be meeting in the fellowship hall. We will require masks and social distancing of everyone in the building to insure the safety of all. Hand sanitizing stations will be available. Chairs will be place at appropriate distancing and we ask that, unless you are sitting with someone from your household, they remain where they are placed.

I want to update you on our response to the Coronavirus outbreak and spread. Our understanding about what is happening is changing hourly. Our desire is to balance the safety and well-being of our participants while still providing the connection and support we all need during this difficult time. As of now, the following events have been cancelled:
Marsha Stevens-Pino concert on March 19th
Palm Beach Pride March 28th and 29th
Nehemiah Action March 30th

All on-campus gatherings have been suspended until further notice. Many of our groups, including Sunday morning worship, have moved online.

We will still be serving a grab-and-go meal to our Tuesday Community Dinner guests at 4:30 PM.

We will be having many conversations in the coming days about how we might practice faith, mercy, and justice in community while being less physically present with one another. In the midst of the chaos, I am looking forward to this process. If there are any needs you have, please do not hesitate to reach out by calling the church office or responding to this email. While the future weeks are filled with uncertainty, we are sure of God’s love and care for us and Our love and care for one another. I leave you with the poem below, shared on social media by one to whom I often turn in difficult times, Parker Palmer.

Peace, Pastor Jason
