Saturday was a great day in PEACE history. March 30, 2019, marks the birth of the Community ID of the Palm Beaches – with the very first ID Drive taking place!
This day was three years in the making, and was the result of you all continuing to show up, meeting after meeting after meeting, and demand that something be done about the fact that far too many of our neighbors are suffering, for lack of an ID.
An estimated 1,500 people showed up at St. Juliana, in the hopes of having a chance to apply for the ID. The number that could be served was 300. And so while 1,200 will have to come back to the next ID Drive, their attendance was an indicator that the problem is indeed huge in our community, and by fighting to get this program started we are addressing a huge need.
Thank you for your continued work on behalf of justice in Palm Beach County.
