October 4, 2020 Psalms of Orientation
Appreciation for the music and affection for the person of Dolly Parton reaches far and wide. It may have something to do with how her music speaks to so many right where they are.
In a similar way, the psalms of scripture’s song book speak to a variety of circumstances and emotions faced by humanity. There are songs to be sung when we are confident and sure of who we are and what we believe. There are songs to be sung when it feels like all hope is lost. Finally, there are songs to be sung as we put the pieces back together.
Join us for the next three weeks, October 4th, 11th, and 18th as we take three of Dolly’s more recent songs, along with three psalms, and explore what they might have to say to us in this moment.
The talented Terri Dixon, who recently played Patsy Cline in “Always, Patsy Cline” at the Wick Theatre, will be our guest soloist all three weeks.
This is a great opportunity to invite those you know who know and love the music of Dolly Parton to join us for some great music, worship, and practical teaching.
