Hungry and Filled

May 24, 2026

We've been climbing a mountain together this spring — sitting with Jesus and the Beatitudes, not as a new set of rules, but as wisdom for how life actually works. As a prophetic announcement of what is already true about us and about the world.

Today we come to the fourth beatitude. And it meets us where we already are.

Not with an instruction. Not with a demand to try harder or care more deeply.

With a recognition.

"Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for justice."

Jesus looks out at the crowd — at people who know what it is to be hungry, to want something better, for themselves, for the ones they love, for this world — and simply says: that hunger is blessed.

You don't have to manufacture it. You already carry it.

Come, then. You are in the right place.
