“Be strong and courageous; do not be frightened or dismayed, for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go.”
— Joshua 1:9
— Joshua 1:9
The Source of True Strength
When life feels overwhelming, our instinct is often to grab for control. We imagine that if we could just predict every outcome or solve every problem, we would finally feel secure. But control is a fragile foundation, and it leaves us exhausted.
The source of true strength is not control or certainty—it is presence. God’s presence does not depend on our performance, understanding, or spiritual maturity. It is constant, faithful, and already with us.
Human leaders, systems, and plans eventually fail. But God’s presence endures. When we anchor ourselves there, we draw from a strength that does not run out.
Strength for the long way begins with trust—not in ourselves, but in the God who promises to remain.
Reflection Question
What would change if you trusted God’s presence more than your ability to manage outcomes?
Prayer
God, help me loosen my grip on control and rest in Your nearness. Remind me that You are my strength today. Amen.
Practicing Strength
Set a reminder once today. When it goes off, take one breath and repeat: “God is with me.”
