The way we know we’ve been transferred from death to life is that we love our brothers and sisters. Anyone who doesn’t love is as good as dead. 1 John 3:14 (The Message)
The letter writer doesn't leave much wiggle room. Love is life, hate is murder. "Well I don't hate anyone." Maybe not. However, am I actively practicing loving everyone? For me, I have expended a great deal of energy "not hating." I am wondering what it would feel like to direct that same energy into just loving. I won't reach perfection, but I can constantly approach laying down my life for my friends.
