I have never noticed before that although Luke and Acts relate the same story by, purportedly, the same author, the storied feel different. "The Ascension of the Lord" is a bit of theological theatre that gets Jesus back to where he belongs in heaven which, in ancient understanding, is somewhere up above us.

But with Jesus' departure, power was left for us. We will receive power. We have received power - the power of relationship with God, the power of a community of faith. What are we doing with the power we have been given?
