The Daily: Thursday November 30, 2023

“On the Big Day, the lying prophets will be publicly exposed and humiliated. Then they’ll wish they’d never swindled people with their ‘visions.’ No more masquerading in prophet clothes. But they’ll deny they’ve even heard of such things: ‘Me, a prophet? Not me. I’m a farmer—grew up on the farm.’ And if someone says, ‘And so where did you get that black eye?’ they’ll say, ‘I ran into a door at a friend’s house.’

There will be a calling to account. We, those who are living a with-God life, are called to prophesy, to speak to the reality of our experience of the Divine. There are too many who have used that calling, that responsibility to deceive and destroy, to maintain the status quo, to give religious cover to tyrants.

Their black eye is not as of much concern as what happens to us as a people, as a planet as a result of their deception. It is vital for us as people of faith, striving for an authentic understanding of the Source of All Being and our part to play in the Divine plan, to speak, to prophesy, to practice, to love.
